COVID Policies 2022-23

Dear Friends of Anchorage Opera,

Our community is evolving in regards to how we keep ourselves and those around us safe. As we navigate through the ever-changing COVID-19 landscape, the following protocols are currently in place for opera attendees:

  • Masks are not required. However, for your health, the health of other guests, and that of our artists on stage, in the orchestra pit, and behind the scenes, it is recommended that you wear a mask. Regardless of your choice, we ask that you respect the choices made by others.
  • Proof of vaccine or a negative test is not required.

In the best interest of fans, artists, and staff, the Anchorage Opera will continue to monitor local COVID- 19 trends and meet or exceed protocols mandated by local authorities. By purchasing tickets to our events, you agree to abide by the health and safety measures in effect at the time of the event, which may include but are not limited to wearing masks, providing proof of vaccination status, or providing proof of negative COVID-19 test. Government mandates, venue protocols, and event requirements are subject to change.

As we celebrate our return to LIVE performances at the PAC, I want to thank you personally for patiently weathering the COVID crisis with us. We hope we can count on your continuing support in our 2022-23 Season as we celebrate our 60th Anniversary of bringing the greatest of all art forms to the great city of Anchorage! Purchasing Season Subscriptions are a great way to show you care about a future for our non-profit and, if possible, including a donation when you do puts an exclamation point on it! How gratifying and humbling it was to see our audiences at Tosca reward each performance with thundering applause and prolonged standing ovations! It’s so great to be back at the PAC! But expenses for producing opera for everything from paint to personnel have increased during the pandemic. As we prepare to produce a new season of full operas, with orchestra, leading artists, chorus, costumes, hair and makeup, set and lighting designers, technical crew, word class stage directors and conductors, we once again need your support to help us bring the magic back to the PAC. Don’t forget that ticket sales only cover only about 30% of the cost of producing opera.
Thank you so much for your patronage. We couldn’t do it without you, and we can’t wait to share all the magic of LIVE opera with you in our 2022-23 Season – Celebrating 60!

What can you do to help Anchorage Opera?

If you are able, we humbly ask you to please consider a donation to Anchorage Opera. Your generosity at this crucial time helps us recover, rebuild and plan great things for our community post-pandemic..
