Join us!  In the “Pass the Mic” Exhibit, Third Floor, West Wing of the Anchorage Museum.

About “For Our Sisters”: Designer, artist, and advocate Mary Kelsay (MEKA, Seattle) in collaboration with Dustin Newman (Anchorage,) One Woman Symphony (Des Moines, IA,) present “For Our Sisters” a story of honor and healing through art, fashion, and music. “For Our Sisters” is a Missing and Murdered Indigenous Peoples story honoring our stolen sisters and relatives. Inspired by the Red Dress portrait created by Dustin, Mary brought them to life raising awareness within the community, creating conversation and healing. This compelled One Woman Symphony to create a musical piece and the pair created a film while in Paris with The Farmhouse Studio. This powerful video is a story of healing and uplifting community. Models for this showcase, Haliehana Stepetin, Teresa Olekszyk, Taytum Robinson, Alex Robinson and Lydia Dirks, are from the Unangax̂ dance group Tanam Ang^ii (Anchorage.)
